The European Information Security Sumit (TEISS)

The event: The European Information Security Sumit (TEISS)

Where: 155 Bishopgate, London

The background:

Having worked with TEISS on this biannual event in 2018, 2019 and 2020, we were well informed as to requirements and have developed a good, strong working relationship with the team there.

Preparation for an event of this scale generally takes about 5 months, so we started working on the production planning in October 2022, almost immediately after the previous TEISS event in September had finished.

The planning process for this event required regular discussions with the client around the specifications as well as follow-up meetings with updates on any changes to requirements.

The event itself:

The day was designed to maximise delegate engagement and feature interactive presentations, panel discussions, round tables and workshops. The summit also provided a platform for dialogue and progress, emphasising the importance of sharing experiences and best practices.

For the production, the team created a 90ft wide stage set which was fully branded. The full scale of work included all the required audio-visual (AV) such as sound, lighting, projection, vision, exhibition AV and display services, technical support, crew for the entire event duration, production and technical management.

In terms of event management, our involvement included communications between the venue (155 Bishopsgate) and the client (TEISS).

Upon arrival to set-up the event, the team discovered that the goods lift was out of service. This meant a re-think of the plan, but given the experience and knowledge within the team this was no issue at all. Escalators and extended routes were utilised throughout the building to the function suites to carry through the full set, staging and kit.

Team Genero are very used to working in London where a complete de-rig needs to be carried out very quickly upon completion of the event as a result of venues being large and access being limited. In this occurrence, the team managed to fully de-rig in 2.5 hours – a fantastic achievement even by our own very high standards.

In terms of event staffing, there was a local crew of six working on the installation and de-rig, led by a Genero project manager, technical manager, vision technician, two sound technician, two AV technicians and four set builders.  With vast experience of working on events in London, team Genero have a reliable pool of freelancers that can be called upon regularly.

“I have worked with Genero for over 4 years and continually return to them as they make the planning process of Set and AV simple and easy. The on-day support and professionalism is also a plus and takes the pressure off myself and my producer. We have and will continue to recommend Genero for production.” - Sydney Ellis
