Genero Group and Penarth Town Council announce partnership

Good news for Penarth & Vale of Glamorgan residents as local events calendar receives private support

Penarth Town council and event specialist Genero Group are pleased to announce the agreement to join forces on the trial delivery of the area’s busy public events calendar.

Councillors at Penarth Town Council have passed agreement that Genero Group whose UK headquarters are in Penarth, will pilot the evolving working relationship which currently sees the production arm of the company provide much of the infrastructure for public events in the area.

Genero Experiences will now combine their expertise in international event styling and management, with those of working colleagues at the Town Council to provide an extra dimension for attendees of the year’s events.

Commenting on the partnership, MD of Genero Group Pete Leckie said: ‘Genero’s commitment to the local community is one of our top priorities. I’ll be very proud to see our team delivering the usual Genero magic closer to home this summer.’

The agreement has recognised that the company will support with appropriate commercial sponsorship opportunities alongside their commitment to delivering added value and enhanced experiences for residents and attendees.

Council Leader Mike Cuddy comments: ‘We have a deep-rooted responsibility to the Penarth community to provide the best possible event to them in the most cost-effective manner. I’m very pleased to welcome Genero to work alongside our team to provide a new and exciting version of traditionally well-loved activities.’

Announcements are to follow soon regarding the dates of the newly invigorated events, and the hotly anticipated Picnic Penarth.

The Lions Roar

The Gethin Jenkins Testimonial of 2016-2017 was honoured to host an incredible British and Irish Lions preview dinner at the Grosvenor London on the 18th May 2017.

The impressive venue provided guests with the opportunity to rub shoulders with British and Irish Lions legends such as Paul O'Connell, Lawrence Dallaglio, Shane Williams, and of course Gethin Jenkins. The excitement didn’t stop there; for music fans a unique, live, and unplugged performance was provided by Welsh music greats The Sterophonics.

An event of such scale needed to do more than shine, it needed to roar. Providing seamless lighting and audio visuals was safely in the hands of Genero. Of course satisfying the beautifully sculptured room with pitch-perfect sounding suitable for a question and answer session, a charity auction, a video and a live set from a rock band naturally came with challenges. But, not even a tight 4-hour rig time could deter the team from setting an outstanding atmosphere for 380 guests.

Pete Leckie, Managing Director at Genero, said: “The night was explosive! Our team really set the atmosphere, that mixed with an impressive set from the ‘Phonics and rugby legends sharing all in a question and answers session, truly provided guests with an unforgettable experience.”
